Ullswater Reflections Lake District Photograph

Ullswater is the second largest lake in the English Lake District. Many regard Ullswater as the most beautiful of the English lakes and it is a popular tourist destination. It is a typical Lake District narrow “ribbon lake” formed after the last ice age when a glacier scooped out the valley floor and when the glacier retreated, the deepened section filled with melt water which became a lake. A total of three separate glaciers formed the lake.

We welcome you to our Lake District based Gallery in Windermere. The stunning Windermere village grew around the railway station, about a mile and a half from the lake. The village originally called Birthwaite until the railway company decided to call the station after the lake. Over the years, the village has become merged with the older lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere, though the two have quite separate center’s. We have many cafes and Independent shops here.

We post out daily throughout the UK using RoyalMail and Parcelforce.

Also feel free to join our no nonsense Newsletter (click here) and keep up to date with new products, sales and of course the latest original oil paintings from owner/artist Craig Long.
