Description
Duke of Portland Ullswater Print
Ullswater is the second largest lake in the English Lake District, being approximately nine miles long and 0.75 miles wide with a maximum depth of slightly more than 60 metres. Many regard Ullswater as the most beautiful of the English lakes surrounded by many beautiful walks and views.
We welcome you to our Lake District based Gallery in Windermere. The stunning Windermere village grew around the railway station, about a mile and a half from the lake. The village was originally called Birthwaite, but the railway company decided to call the station after the lake. Over the years, the village has become merged with the older lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere, though the two have quite separate centres. We have many cafes and Independent shops here. And a 20 minute walk brings you to Bowness-on-Windermere. The beautiful Lakeside and from above the town is the stunning views of The Langdale Pikes and so much more.
