Dawn over Innominate Tarn
Innominate Tarn is a charming pool in a very attractive location. Combining an interesting shape and varied shores with great views of the higher fells across the Ennerdale Valley. Therefore the Tarn scores highly in almost every way. It is an interested shape with three little islands, inlets and peninsulas. Also the shores are a mix of grass, heather and rock, with little rocky outcroppings, especially on the north and eastern shores. The entire summit area of Haystacks is a delight, with countless rocky knolls and hidden pools, and Innominate Tarn forming a centre piece. Haystacks was famously Alfred Wainwright’s favourite summit, and his ashes were scattered near the shores of Innominate Tarn after his death in 1991. He expressed his wishes in A Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells

We welcome you to our Lake District based Gallery in Windermere. The stunning Windermere village grew around the railway station, about a mile and a half from the lake. The village was originally called Birthwaite, but the railway company decided to call the station after the lake. Over the years, the village has become merged with the older lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere, though the two have quite separate centres. We have many cafes and Independant shops here.
