Milbeck Farm and the Langdales
Finally after just over 300 hours work, its finished and on the wall in the Gallery. this has been a monster of a painting to complete, possibly the most complex and challenging one to date. But i am pretty happy with the final result, i don’t usually paint big ones but with a scene like this i felt it really justified the size.

choosing my background
after much deliberation I went with a darker background for my kingfisher, I felt it made the vibrant colours of the bird pop a lot more, much more striking….
